Lee Smiley was born in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, (yes, from the Orlando Bloom movie).  He grew up in Leitchfield, Kentucky, and attended Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro where he majored in Psychology. He also has a Bachelor’s degree in Management and Organizational Development and a Masters of Business Administration in Human Resources Management, mostly so he can better support his writing habit.

Lee began working in the business world in 1994 and, until this writing thing pays off, he will probably continue to do so.  He has worked in various management, human resources, and training positions since he was 19.

In childhood, Lee had dreamed of becoming an author and he rediscovered that dream after marrying, having two children, divorcing, remarrying, and having two more children, divorcing again, and remarrying.  Since he again took pen in hand, so to speak, he has completed three novel manuscripts, finished several short stories (some of which have been published–see Bibliography), earned numerous rejections from some very nice people, has lost his mother, and has beaten cancer.

Lee lives in Louisville, Kentucky with his feline fur daughters, Elvira and Mina, and his non-committal halficorn, Jennifer.
